今ちょっと興味があるのは，Bewaadさんのところの韓リフ先生のコメント
ロングテールをツインテールと間違えた時期がありました。

において“ツインテール”という文字から怪獣（帰ってきたウルトラマン）が頭に浮かぶ人と髪型が頭に浮かぶ人とどちらが多いか，どのような傾向があるかです。
帰ってきたウルトラマンを見ていた世代のいくらかや特撮好きの人は怪獣ではないかと考えるのですが，それ以外の人は怪獣の存在を知らず，ほとんど髪型のほうなのではないのかと思います。
また美少女系のアニメやゲームに親和性が高い人は間違いなく髪型でしょう。
図らずも，世代と好みの傾向（特撮とアニメ）ではっきり分かれる事例なのではないでしょうか。
これをどっちに取られるかで，見られ方が分かるかもしれません。
私はモロに世代なのでグドンに喰われるやられるほうが頭に浮かびます。
Googleイメージでの“ツインテール”の検索結果では圧倒的に髪型になっております。
怪獣のツインテールを知らない方のために若干説明をしておきますと『帰ってきたウルトラマン』で初登場した怪獣で，頭が下でエビゾリに直立しており，二本の尻尾が上の方で撥ねております。美少女ゲームに親しんでいる方は怪獣が由来であるといわれても納得してしまうでしょう。デザインは池谷仙克，造形は高山良策。中の人を感じさせない見事な造形です。

ケムジラがバードンに食われたとか、オイルドリンカーがアストロモンスに
食われたとか、そういう印象が強いとこちらに類推が働いてしまうのでしょうか。
（タロウはそういう意味で、子供向けの造りと言われながら、トラウマとも
言えないレベルですが、印象に残る作が多いような気がします）

タロウはメカデザインや民話シリーズが“子供向けの造り”となったのだろうなと思っています。
何か言いたい年頃の時には格好の批判材料ですが，そういう時期を過ぎると仰るとおり印象深い作品として色々受容できます。
これから，もっと再評価されていくのではないでしょうか。
